Please can anyone help me on how to get Information on Granddad,both wars... 8th army (remi) royal engineers. I know he was a Sergeant/ staff Sergeant?? Served in south Africa, Egypt,Germany,Burma, and more...
And came out of the army and sometime after past away...
Please anyone with any information would be very grateful.

Welcome to RootsChat.
As he was in the army during WW2 you should be able to obtain his military records, but you need to ask his next of kin to apply for them. I think it costs about £30.
I'm sure there is a thread on this board somewhere with the details.

Like Bill says, you will need permission from next of kin ie. widow or, if she is deceased, one of his children etc.. - you will probably need to provide date of birth and proof of death.

Just to put you on the right path q. Reme (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) and Royal Engineers are different Corps.
