We think that Mark John HAMMOND must have been born around Ripon about 1821.
He seems to have served in the army in Canada where he must have been killed around 1846.
He married Catherine O'Shea in Canada, she "returned" to Yorkshire about 1847 with one son John HAMMOND who had been born in Quebec in 1845 and Isabel HAMMOND who appears to have been born in Chester around 1847 presumably on their way to Yorkshire.
John HAMMOND lived in Grantley, would like to find some of his family - a Great Grandfather born in Quebec must surely be remembered in the family!

Ripon and Grantle are in the West Riding. It would be better if your message was there
