Post by: mapacaja on Wednesday 05 September 07 20:32 BST (UK)
Hi, would S.K.S. please have a look up in the 1891 Census for Somerset, for a William PEACH, birth registered in Yeovil, 1852, with a possible Emma as his wife, his occupation previously was a Glove Cutter. Thanks in anticipation, Maurice H. ???

Hi Maurice,

I had a look on the 1891 census and could not find him there at all, neither could i see him on the 1881 census, He is however on the 1861 and 1871 census with his family . If you have him on the 1881 census i dont know. I do know however that glovers form Yeovil moved to America and Canada in the 1860 to 189os. In my family tree I have several movements with relatives moving to joining other family already there in this period. They moved to Johnstown  New York and Halston in Canada though I looked on the 1880 USA census and 1881 Canada census and he is not there.

Hi Rob, Thanks for your help re the above. I can confirm that I have  checked the same Census as you, without any luck. Your suggestion that he may have emigrated to Canada or the USA, is feasible and I will persue this further. Thanks again for your help, kind regards, Maurice H...
