Help Please. I am trying to establish when Annie Hart b abt 1853 Died she was alive on the 1901 Census in Warrington her husband died in 1926 aged 72 Warrington.
I have checked the Ancestry Complete index without any success from 1901 to 1955.
The only death for a Annie Hart was in 1919 but age 0.
Is there any other way to check it out.
Heres Hoping Thanks

Hi Pughy - a few ideas -
Have you got her husband's death certificate - was she the informant (ie would indicate she was alive in 1926)?
Have you looked for a second marriage - I realise she would be over 70..?
Have you tried "soundex" searches for spelling variations?
Was she legally something other than Annie, eg perhaps Ann was her first or even middle name, or Hannah/Susanna etc?
Sorry - no answers just suggestions for more searches

HI mshrmh
Yes I do have her husbands death certificate the informant in attendance was one of his daughters.
With regard to her name on all the censuses & her marriage certificate she is recorded as "Annie"
Also her Great Grandaughter [My Wife] assures me she was always known as "Annie"when referred to by the family.
Checking on Ancestry Complete index for Deaths uses the surname as the required input the Christian name is not a option, it makes no difference to the search whether you put it in or not.
Thanks for your reply has anybody else got any ideas to solve my problem.

There is a Annie Elizabeth Hart died age 88 in 1950 Cheadle/ Stockport on Cheshire BMD. Regards RANDH.

HI Randh.
Thanks but she will all most certainly have been registered in Warrington. Plus there has never been any mention on records or from family that she ever had a second name.
Anybody else with any thoughts or Ideas.

I appreciate what you say about the name though my personal experience is that there is always a possibility that what they are known by on one document can be different to all the rest.
There is an Annie Hart March qtr 1906 age 53 Birkenhead 8a 308
not Warrington, but as you've not found anything otherwise may be worth a try (you can use the husband's name as a check at the local office to save the fee).
Otherwise have you traced a burial for Annie's husband - if it's at a local authority cemetery they may tell you any other occupants of the plot and dates of burial

I have looked on the NBI 2nd edition and cannot find a burial for her. What was her husband's name please? I will look for that for you.
Kind regards

Hi Su & Mshrmh
Sorry to have taken so long to reply. I made a visit to Warrington Cemetery which solved my problem they were able to tell me that Annie Hart & Edward Hart were in the same grave, they also supplied me with dates of death for Annie
