Greetings
In my GG grandfather's memoirs he says "I married a young woman, who was the sister of a man named Alley from Queen's County, Ireland. He had brought his sister out with him from the old country." This was in central Victoria, Australia, in the 1850s. I have no idea what the man's first name was, but his sister's name was Frances. Later, my GG grandfather's brother married Frances' sister Ann. I'm not sure when Frances was born but later census information leads me to believe that Ann was born in about 1843.
However, in a hand-written note in an old book, one of my GG grandfather's daughters says that Frances was from Belfast.
NEW INFORMATION
Frances' death record states that her parents were John & Mary Alley (father's occupation given as farmer). She was born [in "Queens County"] in 1830 and migrated to Victoria, Australia, in about 1851 (ie aged c. 21 yrs).
I'd appreciate any pointers to any early records.

Thanks to Bob's information, I have now obtained the marriage record of Daniel Wilson and Fanny [Frances] Alley. In this record, Fanny's place of birth is listed as Castletown and her father is given as John Alley, farmer, and her mother as Jane Sethes or Sether (difficult handwriting) ...

Hi Peter.John Alley farmed in the Townland of Glenbower,Civil Parish of Offerlane,Co.Laois (old Queens Co.) This is the foothills of the Slieve Bloom mountains.Births would have been registered in Castletown. I have townland maps of the area.

Civil registration of births, deaths & Catholic marriages only began in 1864 so for earlier records you will have to see if church records exist.
