Title: Looking For More Info on David COOT born bc 1864
Post by: cissy172 on Thursday 30 August 07 12:09 BST (UK)
Hi
I have a Susan (Susannah) Coot that had 2 boys William 1861 & David 1864.....both boys seem to have been born out of wedlock....
In 1869 she married John Flitton and had 3 more boys....
I have marriage info off a lady called Susan about William...I'm also looking for info on David's marriage...
If anyone can help.......

They have been a hard family to track as the 2 older boys surname has been down as Coot/Coote/Cook and at one point Flitton.....

Any help much appreciated...

If any one has info on Williams death, this too would be a great help....

Hi

James Smethurst abt 1854 married Hannah Ashworth, both born in the Bury area....they had

Nellie 1886
George 1887
Sarah 1888
Richard 1890
Edith 1893
James 1896
Doris 1900

all birth years are off census records, as it's the Ashworth family I'm more interested in....Althoug I do try and find what I can on the family people married into...

Hi Cissy,

I searched the Flamstead PRs and located the baptism entry  ...   23Sep1860  William (born 03Jun1860) bastard child of Sarah Ann Coot of Flamstead.

No entry found for David up to 1870 or the marriage of John  FLITTON at Flamstead.

Regards   ...   Peter

Hi Peter

This family are driving me nuts....

A lady a while ago said that he was the son of Susan/Susannah Coot.....And on his marriage cert it says Williams  father John Flitton, which fits in with what I have found....

I know he married Eliza Groom, as my M.I.L remembers the name Groom on that side of the family..

Thanks for your time I'll have to keep looking..

Hi Cissy172,

I know that it's a little while since you made this posting.

I wondered if you are still looking for details on the COOT's of Flamstead.

I am currently researching the names on the Flamstead War Memorial and have one COOT and two COOTE's which I would be interested in sharing information with you on.
