Hi
any body tell me where I can fined bishops transcripts for carlisle 1851-1853 I have a Major brick wall and I think the only way to get the answer is from thees I need to fined  info on Mary Douglas born 1834 cant fined any trace outher than 8 Marys born around the same time if I could get details on her marriage to John Sewell I could at least get her correct age and the name of her father the records office tell me that some  origanal records for those years are illegible can any one help

There are copies in Whitehaven

Can't find a match anywhere on free bmd.

Could it be a second marriage or in Scotland - including Gretna?

The nearest I can find is John Swalwell with possibility Mary Ann Douglas in South Shields

24 204 June 1850.

Unless one was known by another name?

This is reviving a very old post from 2004 so it is possible Audrey already has the answer and probably best not to do too much research until she replies.
