Hi Folks
Just wondered if anyone knows where I can get details of burial records for Alva or Alloa in the early 1900's.
Cheers

Hi Kev
Try http://www.clacksweb.org.uk/community/burialgroundcharges then scroll down to 'contact information'
There's nothing on the site to say that they will look things up for you but you can but try!
Regards

Hi Kev,
I've photographed most of the stones in Alva Cemetery bearing the names of men/women killed in either WW1 or WW2. If any of the folk you're looking for were unfortunate enough to have lost someone in either war, get in touch and I'll have a look through my lists.

Morning Kev,
I may be able to assist with the Alloa MI's - maybe even the Alva ones. An update of Mitchell's inscriptions was done in 2002 & I bought the book. I'm not sure whether all cemeteries were updated or only that Greenside (Alloa) was added.
If I can help . . . . . .

Kev,
The Central Scotland Family History Society has produced a publication on Alloa & Hillfoots Burials Pre-1855 which includes 1,931 transcriptions of burial records for Alva, mostly from the period 1730-1800.

Burial records are kept at the cemetery office, just been looking at them today. Unfortunately they don't go back much beyond 1918 due a fire in the 1990s
Staff very helpful
