Hi all,
This is my first posting to this site. I am looking for any information on my Gr.Gr. Uncle Bernard Cushnan. I know he is buried in Drummaul graveyard. near Randalstown Co. Antrim. He died in 1898. I would be interested to know if his father/mother/wife etc were all buried in the same plot. I don't know much else, I know he was a farmer and left a will, leaving some property to his wife and a little money for the upkeep of his grave, which should have an iron railing surround. Any information would be appreciated.

:) Hi Jimmy I live in Belfast there is a will index at the UHF in Belfast for a Bernard Cushnan.
Bernard Cushnan date 7/10/99 place Antrim Year 1900.
I think 7/10/1899 is the year of death and 1900 is the year the will was read.
Do you know his age at death, the UHF may have his birth certificate.

Anthony,
Thanks very much for the reply. I don't know exactly what age he was when he died, I imagine he would have been in his mid 70's. I have a copy of the will but his age does not appear. He had at least 3 brothers - Frank and Patrick left Ireland for Boston circa 1846. Edward my G Gr Grandfather stayed in the Toome area until they moved to Belfast. He was a Hackler in the linen mills. I am originaly from Belfast but have been almost 40 years in Canada. I still have 4 brotyers in Ireland, and I have passed on the request to them as well.
Thanks

Hi JPC,
I was recently at Sacred Heart Cemetary Cargin just outside Randalstown looking for a grave for Liddy relatives. As the cemetary was n't signposted I wasn't sure if I was in the correct one. An elderly couple drove up. I asked the man the name of the cemetary. He was very helpful and took me to the grave I was looking He also told me his name was Cushnan and pointed to his family grave. Coincidently his grandmother was a Liddy . I think this is in the civil parish of Duneane. hope this long winded story is of some help

You have just replied to a thread where the last post was in October 2006, and the last poster wasn't been online here since February 2012.
