Post by: sem73 on Tuesday 14 August 07 21:33 BST (UK)
Hi All

Does anyone have any info, history or personal stories of working at  Pistyll Gwyn Quarry, nr Llanarmon yn Iāl? I'm trying to piece together the working life of my late grandfather who worked there until 1970 as did many of his family in the past?........

Sarah :)

Don't know about this particular quarry but these sites might be helpful or try the National Library of Wales.

The Flintshire Record Office holds historical information on most quarries in the area.Have a search of the following site;

There is a llanarmon-yn-iāl community Facebook group and someone has just posted aerial photos of the quarry dated 1952.

It's also a great place to ask as many locals are on there.
