Hello Ed the Cat,
When did Wingfield marry Ethel and what denomination were they ???
If you aren't doing so already it would be an idea to look for Wingfield as well as Bushe.

Sorry I've not got back to you before but been away to the otherisde of the world on holiday.
I've now found a little more information on Wingfield as I have a copy of his and Ethels' wedding certificate, I've got his brother and fathers name, brother was Samuel G and their fathers' name was John. I've also found a connection with Samuel and a lady called Mary K O'Marr. So I'm now trying to track down this family and also Wingfields death

Ed- Any idea where in Ireland would the Bushe family have lived?

Wingfield Arthur Bushe was born 1890 Sept Qtr North Dublin. I have yet to send for his birth cert, but its his death that interests me more as no one seem to know what happened to him as he and G Nan split up

Hi there, I am a direct descendant of this family. I am from Dublin and my grandfather Raymond was eldest son of William J Bushe, Wingfields eldest brother. They were born in a house now gone in Eglinton Tce beside Royal Canal in Phibsboro, and moved to St Margarets st beside Croke Park by 1901. I am researching a lot on them. I know William was in The Scottish Rifles in WWI and Wingfield was a musician in the army based in Essex or Kent. Sadly, by 1911 their father John was dead, and their Mother Phoebe Anne Curley had moved to Somerset with their eldest daughter Mary Jane. Sadly it seems Mary Jane died shortly after in 1912 aged about 17 or 18. When their mother moved, the younger children (Kathleen, Lily, Phoebe and Thomas) were placed in orphanges in Dublin... thats as far as i have got. I spent a lot of time with my Grandy but he died in 1901, and I never thought to ever ask after his family.. pity.

Sorry, also meant to say that both parents John and Phoebe were deaf and dumb but it seems all the children had full hearing etc

I'm not related to the Bushe family or Mary's family but I did a bit of research.
There was a Mary Marr born in 1897 in Doncaster, Yorkshire. I'm not sure if it's the same person? On the 1911 census, Mary is 13 years old and living with her mother, Eliza, in South Kirkby, Yorkshire. She had two brothers, Laurence and William, and a sister, Annie Elizabeth. Again, the surname is Marr. Her father isn't recorded on the 1911 census but there is an Eliza Marr living in Durham in the 1891 census with her husband, Edward Marr, and more of Mary's siblings, Helen/Ellen, Bridget and Patrick.
There was also a Mrs Mary Bushe (nče O'Marr) in the Women's Army Auxilary Corps. during the war.
Hope this is the same person!
Anna
