Hello,
I'm looking for information on a 'William Whitfield' whose birthplace on the 1871 census is given as 'Marsden'. I've found 2 likely birth listings for him, one in Bradford and the other in Leeds. Does anyone who knows this area know which one is most likely?
Same sort of question for 'Bolsterstone': should I be looking in Ecclesfield, Bradfield, Bradford or Wortley (all these places are listed on different documents relating to just 1 person).
Many thanks for any help.

Hi
The only Marsden I know of is in Huddersfield and I wonder if this is him in 1841.

Thank you Jane; I knew his father was William thanks to the marriage certificate, so this is most probably them. :)
Many thanks again.

Hi again
It looks like by 1851 they had moved over the border to Lancashire.
Marsden is on the border with Lancashire and not too far from Stayleybridge where they are in 1851.
This looks like them
