Title: 1861-71 Lookup Request - EVERARD
Post by: PeterW on Friday 03 August 07 04:45 BST (UK)
I’m looking for a Louisa Watkins Everard who was born in District of Cosford about 1855. Could someone please check the 1861 & 1871 Censuses to determine her whereabouts along with any family members?

Peter

Thank you for locating Louisa Watkins Everard in the 1861-71 Censuses!  ;D

I found part of the family listed in the 1881 Census on the LDS website:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

Eliza EVERARD Head M Female 54 Ipswich, Suffolk, England Housekeeper
Eliza EVERARD Daur U Female 38 Boxford, Suffolk, England Companion
Alfred S. EVERARD Son U Male 24 Boxford, Suffolk, England Waiter (Inn Svt)
Edward P. EVERARD Son U Male 28 Boxford, Suffolk, England Commercial Clerk

Dwelling Caldwell Hall Rd 2 Arthur Cottage
Census Place Ipswich St Margaret, Suffolk, England
Public Records Office Reference RG11
Piece / Folio 1875 / 35
Page Number 25

However, I have been unable to find Joshua Dunbar Everard or his daughter Louisa Watkins Everard in the 1881 Census. ???

There are 2 entries on Free BDM that suggest that both were alive at that time:
http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Marriage: EVERARD Louisa Watkins, Swansea, Sep 1881 11a 764
Death: EVERARD Joshua Dunbar, 67, Ipswich, Mar 1890 4a 566

Could someone determine the whereabouts of Joshua and Louisa Everard during the 1881 Census?

Peter

I managed to find Louisa Watkins Everard in the 1881 Census; ;D

Louisa W. Efferard Boarder U Female 26 Boxford, Suffolk, England  Drapers Milliner
Dwelling: 23 Underhill St
Census Place: Swansea Town, Glamorgan, Wales
Public Records Office Reference: RG11
Piece / Folio : 5358 / 118
Page Number: 58

I also believe that Joshua Dunbar Everard may have been a patient in an Asylum. :o

J.D. E., Patient, Married, Male, Stoke By Nayland, Suffolk, England, Grocer.
Institution: "Ipswich Borough Asylum" Foxhall Road
Census Place: Ipswich St Clement, Suffolk, England
Public Records Office Reference: RG11
Piece / Folio: 1874 / 118
Page Number: 1
Foxhall Road

It does not appear that Joshua would have attended in Louisa's wedding in Swansea.  :(

Hi Peter - if you are still interested in Louisa you may be interested in a small children's book of a Christmas book that I have - it is her copy (or her namesakes) with her name to the front and the date October 13th 1866
