Hi
Are you sure about the dates - If born in 1731, she would have been almost 50 when she married and had the child.
There is an IGI marriage - extracted record for Thomas Wildblood & Sarah Geater 15 Feb 1779 and a child Thomas baptised 5 Dec 1779, both at Stoke on Trent. There is another Thomas, christened 10 Oct 1784, also son of Thomas and Sarah.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true
There are a number of submitted IGI records for Sarah - all giving birth dates from 1740-1750, but it seems doubtful a parish record has been sighted. There is also an extracted record for a baptism for Sarah Gater in 1735 - parents Thomas and Mary. This seems a slightly better option but she would still be 45 when having the first child.
A family search gives 6 children to Thomas and Sarah, the last being baptised in 1789, so I think the 1730s birth is rather impossible - unless I am mistaken and there are 2 Thomas & Sarahs ??? You did mention Thomas Snr - is there also a Thomas Jnr who married a Sarah?
To do a family search, put thomas Wildblood in the father column, Sarah in the mother - give a date e.g. 1780 +/- 20 and a location, BI England Staffordshire - this will give all the children in this time period. (apologies if you have done all of this)

Not from what I have seen on the IGI - Are the Thomas Wildblood and Sarah Geater married in Stoke 1779 a completely different family?

Hi,
The start of my research is with a Joseph Dobson born 1822 Pollington, he married Elizabeth Wildblood born 1823 woodlesford, they married 16th march 1843 woodlesford rothwell parish.
Elizabeth Wildblood's parents are Thomas Wildblood born abt 1780 not york, and elizabeth hick born abt 1782 micklesfield, they married abt 1814 woodlesford.
They had children-mary, george, thomas jnr and elizabeth.
Thomas wildblood (father of elizabeth born 1823) parents were Thomas wildblood senior and sarah seater.
Thomas wildblood snr born 1727 pentsridge married sarah seater 1779 and had a child Thomas born 1780. but Thomas wildblood senior was married before to Hannah Malkin born 1731 stoke-on-trent they married in 1748
Too many Thomas's? have i gone wrong somewhere?

Repeating your information, really doesn't help me. Have you looked at the information I found?
I don't know where you have found your information - but when a record is listed as
born abt ... it usually means someone has guessed this fact and is not very reliable. Where is "not york" as a location??
Where did you find a record of Thomas Wildblood marrying Sarah Seater in 1779. I found Thomas Wildblood marrying Sarah Geater in 1779.
Sorry - I really can't help if you are sure your information is correct. I find it almost impossible to believe that a lady aged 49 in 1780 would have had a child. Most of that age that have children today use IVF. I did know one lady who conceived naturally at 47, but it wasn't the first child of a marriage.
