Title: Gourlay
Post by: kilconquhar on Saturday 28 July 07 08:33 BST (UK)
Hi all

I'm researching the Gourlay surname, most of my ancestors were around Fife in the 1800s

My first cousin twice removed Francis (appears on some certificates as Jasper Francis) marred Elizabeth Paterson, 5 Oct 1922 in Glasgow

He died 15 June 1955 in Calderhead

Anyone got any information on any children or Francis's relatives - Agnes (who may be the one to witness the marriage, James or Eric

All feedback greatfully received

John

His death certificate says he was a retired publican

Does anyone know if there are records of publicans and their families as this could be helpful to you.

I appear to have made a mistake, James and Eric are not part of the same family.

The death certificate shows him as Frank Gourlay

His sister Agnes must have married a James Dickson, Motherwell as he witnessed the death

Does anything here ring any bells
Regards
John
