Hey there Mike.
The record that I had said that they were married by licence, so if you could have a check I would be grateful.
I followed up the Thirlwall marriage you found me. Robert was buried in Cosby in 1808. There dont seem to have been any children or not in Cosby at least. The records for Cosby are now online.

Can I ask why did these people marry by licence and put up these bonds. Where did the bond money go to ? Why didnt they just marry by Banns ?

Hi Fizzy,
You had some postings in 2007 of the marriage of Thomas Lockwood and Elizabeth Stephens in Leicester in 1763. I am in the process of creating this family tree as part of the Lockwood One Name Study (my website is at www.lockwoodons.webspace.virginmedia.com).
This particular tree was started when I bought a picture of Arthur George Lockwood, an amateur golf champion in Massachusetts in the early 1900s. I have found out quite a lot but wonder how your interest in this tree came about and if you have more information about the desendants of this marriage.
As this is my first request I hope I am not breaking any rules....
Regards
Peter Lockwood

Hiya Peter,
My interest is in the Thirlwall family.
Robert Thirlwall married Ann Stephens. They had no children.
