Any baptisms, marriage or burial entries in the name of FIDDES please before 1837 (I think this church was established in 1826). I know this sounds rather vague but Fiddes is an uncommon name and any in this parish will be related to my lines.
I have been stuck at this point on the Fiddes lines for absolutely ages, any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, Amanda.
Holy Trinity, Knightsbridge church comes in the district of St George Hanover Square, but not much of ths district has been transcibed for the IGI. The PRs are at
The City of Westminster Archives.,
10, St, Ann's St
London SW1P 2DE
http://www.westminster.gov.uk/archives/
If you go to the Familysearch site of the IGI & simply enter Fiddes you will find there ae 161 entries for this name, some of the in the Westminster area around St Geo, Han Sq.
Hope this helps

Sorry, Amanda,
The church of Holy Trinity, Knightsbridge inthe district of St Geo. Han Sq. has not been transcirbed for the IGI, sorry if what I said was misleading but you would need to look at the original PRs for the church of Holy Trinity, Knightsbridge, St Geo. Han Sq, Westminster.
The Fiddes entered in the IGI are from neighbouring districts to St Geo, i e St James, St Martins in the Fields, St Paul, Covent Garden, St Ann Soho,. all coming under Westminster.

Thanks Meliora,
I realised as soon as I tried looking them up. Not to worry it prompted me to re-check those that had been listed.

I found this entry on my disc, it's the only Fiddes listed.
Chapel of The Holy Trinity, Knightsbridge 1658 - 1681
1666 - 1667 Marriages
31 Mar 1678 John Fiddes and Mary Applebie. [Cull]

Thanks Karen
Fiddes is such an uncommon name, I feel sure this one should be an ancestor but the ealiest Fiddes I have been able to link up to my lines is a John Fiddes born 1795 Knightsbridge.. I need to be able to trace him further back. Any ideas?

Hi Amanda
Was at the Westminster City Archives today. Below is a list of their holdings.

No baptism registers survive from the period 1695-1866, because they were 'kept in an informal manner and subject to damp' according to their records.
