The 1891 census gives my family (Simmons) living at 45 Winstanley Street, St. Philip & St. Jacob. I can't find this on my A-Z Bristol map, so maybe the street doesn't exist any more. Has anyone heard of it?

Hi Mary
It appears that Winstanley St is no more - for old photo and info,
try this link:

Hi marquees
Many thanks for the link - it's a great photo of the Street. It's sad that so many of the old places have been demolished, but that's 'progress' for you I suppose!

I have been looking for one and am very interested.

Hi Jennie
I got the A-Z of Bristol when I was in the UK last in 2000. The following link is good but I guess only if the street still exists.
http://www.192.com/maps/
If you would like me to check any street on my map I'd be happy to do so.

Thanks to both of you for the leads. I have tried the 192 site but that is all I have had time for. But I appreciate your help.
Thanks-
