Thanks Cazay for your prompt reply.
Where is she, this Sarah Ann - who became Marion Hood - actress/singer and whose birth date is given as April 1854 Liverpool?
The parents Joseph and Mary fit what I know of family names but not the date.
curious

Hi Joy
Found this one :-\
1861 census, Everton - 4 Iliad Street
RG 9/2711 folio 86 pg 1
George Isaac; head; mar; 29; coal dealer late carpenter; Liverpool
Mary do; wife; mar; 31; Neston, Cheshire
Sarah Anne do; dau; 7; scholar; Liverpool
John do; son; 5; Liverpool
George do; son; 10 m; Liverpool
William Rollinson; serv; 14; Liverpool
If this is the correct family, there is a marriage:
Q2 1853
Our Lady, St Nicholas & St Anne
George James Isaac to Mary Rawlinson
Looking at this marriage, suggests that the 14 yr old servant in the house is actually a relative of Mary???
Good luck
SandraC
PS Did she marry a Hood? I have quite a lot in my tree!

Another possibility
RG9/2731 F20 p33
63 Squire St West Derby, Liverpool (strange)
Joseph Isaacs Head M 31 Painter b Poland Br Subject
Mary Wife M 29 b Ireland
Rebecca dau 5 b Liverpool
Sarah dau 3 "

Hi Joy
Sarah (Marion Hood) was the daughter of George (the coal-dealer) and Mary, as 'SandraC' found above. I researched this family because Sarah's brother Charles Isaac is lodging with a Margaret Robinson in Hull on the 1881 census, who is in my family tree. Margaret's daughter was singer/actress Lillian Cavalier, who was my GGGG aunt. Like 'Marion' she lived in Hull in her early years and was in music-hall and later at the Gaiety theatre, London, among other theatres. I think it's likely they started on the stage about the same time.
Another famous name is lodging with Sarah (look for 'Marion Isaac') in the 1871 census - Kate Candelin, whose stage name was Kate Vaughan.

Jim

Thanks for the reply and the additional information Jim. It all helps make the family history a little more interesting than a list of names.
I found a photo of Marion Hood on the internet which was great.
