Hi, Julie,
In a way you may able to help my wife, Marie. Both her parents were born in Ireland. Peter Bolger, her Father, was born in Enniscorthy in 1926. Bridget Bolger, yes they had the same surname before they were married, her was born in Graiguenamanagh, in 1928. Marie's Father, Peter, who is now 81, would like to find his Mother's grave, even though she abandoned him a year after he was born! Her name was Mary Quirke and she married Michael Bolger, Peter's Father, in 1926.
Cheers,
Terry Fulham.

Terry, this may be strange to ask but have you ordered a birth cert [or at least a copy of both] and also marrige certs for these people? The Irish GRO [just google GRO Ireland] should have them although you would be better using the LDS site [Just Google family search].
As your wifes father is still around he may well have his original [full] birth cert so the process is much easier. Also Bridget... it may be simple to seach both bolgers marying? just to make things easier when using the LDS site do not put the first names or dates in just the surnames and put Ireland as the location and not enniscorthy.. it will provide over a 100 returns but ignor all references to USA and you will see the choices are then much fewer.
Any problems let me know!
Julie, your situation is much more difficult although the LDS site is still your best option. As you know only that Bernard came from Ireland and was born c1816 not sure how you know who the father [James is] can only guess you have found the marrige cert in england ?

....... Julie, your situation is much more difficult although the LDS site is still your best option. .......
Civil registration for births started in Ireland in 1864 so the LDS site is unlikely to be of any use to Julie.
Dara.

yes your quite right Dara :-[ The Central Library in Dublin is then the only way i know of going forwards on this but without a district let alone a barony or townland it will be like a needle in a hay stack :'(

I would check Griffith Valuation to check how many Bolgers are head of Household
in Wexford Country.

Hi Julie and/or Terry
Saw your posts earlier. I have a relative, John Bell, who married a Margaret Bolger in Gorey on 18 September 19892. At the time Margaret was living in Esmonde Street, Gorey. Her father was a Charles Bolger. Any connection with your family?
