Hi I am trying to find info if possible, these are the details i have.....
WILLIAM ARCHER b 1812 in england
married
MARION WILSON b 1821ish
in St Johns Church, Launceston
i am trying to get info on william archer ie birthplace or parents etc anything really.. here is a link to my other post...

Have you got a copy of his Permission to Marry from the Tasmanian Archives as yet?
I don't know what aexat details it will reveal though .

hi yes i do have that but all it has is their names, ship, date it was sent to master, date sent to secretary and decision. thankswould they have a marriage cert?? if so where could i get it do you know?? thanks again

The information from Tas BDMs to 1900 are freely available at the archives. If you contact them, they would probably provide a copy of the register entry for (I assume) their basic photocopy price plus postage.
I think civil registration started in 1838/9 but the detail would probably be as supplied by the Church - for my families some have good details, some do not.
