Any info please as to whether this company still exists in any form. The address in 1929 was 120 high Street, Lewisham. There were also shops in BRIXTON, PECKHAM, PUTNEY, HACKNEY, STREATHAM, BLAHAM, OXFORD STREET and CAMDEN TOWN.
Thanks.

Hello pgod,
I tried the National Archives website. There's no sign of a Goldsmiths named Sanders but there's a Saunders, Shepherd & Co Ltd, manufacturing jewellers and goldsmiths www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/nra/searches/subjectView.asp?ID=B17305
It's a pity all businesses don't hand their records to local record offices when they close.

I saw your post when researching the name Sanders & Co "the leading London Goldsmiths" on the case for my late father's wedding ring. If you search that name, you will find a link to landmark.lambeth.gov.uk which has a photo of the Brixton Road branch and gives a potted history of the company.Evidently, it was founded in 1905 by Sidney Sanders and William Metherell in Streatham. Ultimately, the firm was taken over by H Samual in 1984 and subsequently wound up.
