I am looking for the baptism/birth date of Thomas William Gammage of Weedon Bec, born about 1823. His father was John Gammage.

I have more information on this family.
Are you descended from Thomas?

I am not directly related to Thomas. However, he married Mary Pinckard in 1845. Mary is a cousin in my line (actually my wife's line, but I call them my own). I am tracing their downline. I have Thomas and Mary with 5 children, the first three born in Weedon (Emma, Isabella, and Thomas William), then they immigrated to the USA on the ship Duke in 1850. I have found them in the 1850 and 1860 censuses in New York. They had two children born in New York (that I know of), Frederick in 1854 and Edwin F. in 1860.
I haven't been able to find any of them after 1860. If you have any more of this downline I'd be interested in collaborating; also if you are interested in the upline of Mary Pinckard, I'd be happy to share what I have.
Regards,
Steve

Interesting as John (father of Thomas) and his 2nd wife Mary also went to the USA,
They were still in Weedon in 1840, but gone by 1851.
John seems to have died 1850-1860 either New York or Illinois. Mary died after 1880 probably in Illinois.
I am not related to the Gammages, but helped out a friend who is. She is descended from Henry, brother of Thomas.
Thomas married Tryphena CARR and lived in Hereford.

Interesting indeed. That gives me another place to look. Perhaps Thomas and Mary went to Illinois after the 1860 census (with Mary?). I can also look for John and Mary (or Mary alone after John's death) to see if that helps me located Thomas.

I found Mary (widow) with Edwin born 1862, Frederick 1856 and Thomas F. 1865 in 1871 in the English Census - I think Thomas must have died and Mary went back to Northampton - this is my direct line - John and Elizabeth had Henry (my line) and Thomas (your line). So I actually have 6 kids for them Isabella, Emma, Thomas (1850 Weedon), Edwin, Frederick and Thomas F. (1865 NY, Brooklyn) (did Thomas 1850 die?). Please contact me at billyoung@telus.net.

Greetings there was also a Thomas William Gammage born 1822 Weedon Beck, son of John Thomas Gamage and Elizabeth Clark who married Mary Pinckard and the family moved to the USA.
I suspect we have discussed this previously as I have discussed this with Miranda. I have the same detail as she does.
Cheers, Ian
