Title: SMITH'S Anstruther & Kilrenny
Post by: sidsmith on Friday 10 December 04 20:27 GMT (UK)
Am looking for any Smith's in this area. Mine go back to Alexander Smith born 1701. I am researching his three sons lines. I need help regarding the Daughters and who they married and or any person connected in anyway to these lines.
Regards
Sid

Hello Sid, Thomas Smith born Kilrenny 24/3/1822 died 10/6/1885 Shore Rd Anstruther Wester was my G.G.G. Grandfather. He was a Master Mariner who at the time of his eldest daughter Cecilia's Marriage to James Pyper at Anstruther Wester 26/6/1863 was Chief Mate of the "Palmerston" London. I have doc's giving a line back from Thomas to James to William to Alexander married to Christian Balfour. If any of this connects to your research drop me a line back, as I have more information than I could detail here . Regards DP

Hi DP

Alexander Smith c 1701 is my 6th Greatgrandfather. My line is through one of his sons James c 15 May 1737. Your line would be from William c 6 Jul 1742.
I am working on all three sons of Alexander and would appreciate any info you can give me.
I am spending a week in Register House, Edinburgh, in May to tidy up a lot of loose ends with Jame's line and hopefully get time to look at his other two brothers lines .. William & George and confirm a lot of BMD dates I have upto at least 1900

Regards
Sid

Hello Fran, just home from work to find your message, drop me a line at  *  whilest I take a look at my records, I do know that the  line from Isabella is not straight forward.  I have the Pypers  back to Montrose 1784.
