Hi
I am wondering if anyone can help me fill in any background information, to do with my Grandfather John Briggs.
Birth: Dec 1905
Briggs John Joseph
Gateshead in Co. Durham.
Baptism: Easington 1906
Burial: Easington Between April and August 1982.
He lived in Seaham, most of his life, was a Coal Miner and was Married twice: once to a Winifred Knox/Fahy from 1945 until 1982 and once to Charlotte Launder 1934-1942 (at her death). He had two children, a Joseph and a Catherine. any information would be appreciated.

Hi yet again s.k.,
As advised previously by me and others, your genealogical research needs searches of the full indexes (both in England and in Australia). But this then needs to be followed by purchase of relevant (or possibly relevant) certificates - which, if they are the right ones, should provide an enormous amount of information to help you in your genealogical research.
In the interests of avoiding even further duplication of lookups and replies (of which there have been so very many to date) by helpful RootsChatters, here are some links to other threads about your BRIGGS family which RootsChatters might wish to check out before doing lookups or responding here.

Genealogy is a great hobby - but, like all hobbies, it does require quite a lot of work ::) And, unfortunately, the expenditure of money ;D But what hobby doesn't :o
