Does anyone have either of these items relating to MIs in Dunbartonshire pre 1855 as shown at the following link?
I'm considering buying them to share with the forum but don't want to go to the expense if someone else has them.

Hi Sylvia,
Could you do me a favour and have a look for Forrest in the Dunbartonshire MI.
Areas of particular interest to me would me Cumbernauld, Kirkintilloch, Moodiesburn and around that area.
My gggg grandfather James Forrest was married in Kirkintilloch to Janet Rochead and had children in Campsie, Cumbernauld and Slamannan.
He died in Glasgow.
I've not been able to find his birth so I'm looking for other potential relatives that might help me track down his birth place.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
If this is so vague that it would be too time consuming for you, then don't worry. I'll understand.

Thank you Sylvia :)
I never knew she was buried there, I visited Daniel Munn's grave last May.
I always wondered why she wasn't buried with him ???
Now I know where she is buried.
Thank you so much.

Hello Sylvia :)
Thank you so much for checking them for me.
I have to work out which one's are mine now, I know the last one is.
What does RHU stand for?
Thank you again.
Kind regards
Pettsy
-
Hi Pettsy,
I'm just being nosey . . . .
Rhu doesn't stand for anything - it's the name of a village just along the coast from Helensburgh, If you go to Multimap and key in Rhu, you'll see it's exact location.

Hi apanderson,
Be as nosey as you like ;)
Thank you I have never heard of RHU, I thought it was the initials for something :-[
Pettsy :)

If looking for records for Rhu, it used to be known as Row.

Hi Sylvia,
I do have Daniel Munn's Will, but not the will for Janet Munn who was his second wife.
I will get copies of them when I visit Edinburgh in two weeks.
Thanks you Sylvia I never knew about Janet's will.
I have some McAulay's, they are buried in a little church grave yard in Kilmaronock, not far from Bonhill.
Would they be in you book of MI's?
I might have to buy a copy seeing as so many of my ancestors were from Dunbartonshire.
Thank you for all your help.

Hi Sylvia ,

Widow of John Lang, Parochial School Master.
John McAulay July 1943, retired Farmer, single, 74 years old.
Catherine McAulay nee McColl July 1883 90 years old.
Widow of James McAulay (no her death was in Stirling)
Now I have to order my Killearn death certs before I can look for the MI's.

====SNIP========
I am just guessing but are you quoting from the typscript booklet "MITCHELL, John Fowler (CIE) & Sheila. Monumental Inscriptions (pre-1855) in Dunbartonshire. (1969). Produced for The Scottish Genealogy Society." [I obtained copies of a couple of pages some years ago].If so, I would like to ask a favour?
On page 97 there is a series of CALDERs - #133 to 139. The last two contain "R D McA (&) J B" which I assume to relate to the McAndrew and Blair families. Christin(a) Blair [#133] is the product of a McAndrew/Blair marriage.
Could you please see if there are any MIs that clearly spell out "McAndrew" as I am trying to find out who "R D" could possibly be and when they lived/died. I am already assuming that "R D McA & J B" were responsible for the erection of markers #138 and 139.
TIA Mike.

There are no other McAndrews in the Auld Aisle cemetery listed.
In the cemetery next to Auld Aisle - the Kirkintilloch Cemetery, there are a small number of MIs, one has a Calder - William Calder, manufacturer died 2/10/1852, age 42. wife Jane Weir died 25/10/1872, 62. 1st son William, manufacturer died 22/1/1866, 33. youngest son rev Thomas Wright C, a short time min Ayr FC. 14/1/1873, 26. Youngest daughter Agnes 21/8/1908, 63. last of family Mary 17/2/1914, 72 Alex Calder Martin, 24/2/1914, 52.
In the St Mary's churchyard (now a museum, stones moved from original positions) an early 1962 list gives only these 2:
William Blair, Janet Buchan.
John Blair and Christine McAndrew & Family 1821.
no other info recorded for these 2.
any help?
