Title: Famly History Society
Post by: Elliebob on Thursday 28 June 07 19:49 BST (UK)
For some time I have belonged to the "Court Family History Society" and not been able to find any connection with anyone on there.  Out of the blue I had an e-mail through the website, from a distant cousin in America.  His g,g g-father was brother to mine.  A family which I had not been able to find after the 1861 census.  Couldn't find them because they went to Montana in 1862!!

A really good contact with a huge number of American rellies!

That's a good reminder to check the GOONS (Guild of One Name Studies)

This sounds like a private Family History Group. not a Family History Society in the true sense of the word.

Family Hsitory Societies come under the control of  The Federation of Family History Societies. not for a surname as I presume this one is.

I am a member of  GOONS and SOG and FHS amongst others.   As a Member they are more useful to me than any other sites.

The last name Trotter isn't on there.
