Iwas wondering if rowallan were an address/house name.

Clutching at straws here:
A guest house: http://www.rowallan.co.uk/
The windows are the correct proportions?

This one too, but it doesn't look right .

Just a thought from my days of being prepared- but there was a Lord Rowallan who was Chief Scout in the 1950's

In  which case you should have a look at the Wikipedia
entry for Thomas Corbett- the 2nd Baron Rowallan- your friends  may have to start practising their curtsies! ;D
