Hello
I am trying to track down Lily Jessie Firmstone aged 6 / 7 in the 1901 census so that I can find out who her parents were. She was born in West Bromwich so I am not sure if she was still living there. I would be very grateful for any info.
Thanks

This may be her
Lily Termstone 6 Staffs West Bromwich West Bromwich West Bromwich
http://www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ (There is a fee to view the household)
Do a search, using Termstone only as the surname. There are only 8 and they are probably the one family
This is presumaby the same family in 1881 - which seems to give mother's maiden name (Zenith)

:'( boo hoo cant find John in 1871 at all no go transcribed as Firmstone and have tried John aged 16-18 born in all 3 places he has listed in the censuses as being born and dont c anything vaguely similar....without any more of the family I can try for no luck sorry... :'( More bad news....when I coundnt find Alice either I tryed checking the 81 image and wait for it..... :'( :'( You guessed it Louisas name is not Zennith Its SMITH so tried again there r 2 Alice Smiths 14 b Belborough both r servants one in Belbroughton and this one who seems the most likely choice given we have a Louisa as well...

Hi Kris & Laura
Fancy having a Zenith (so easy to track) turn into a Smith - :'( :'( :'(
And what a ghastly transcription is the 1901!!! Thank goodness volunteers did 1881 and much of others as well.
Merry Christmas :D :D
Trish
Woops - just realised the Zenith was 1881 - guess we need to see originals for all of the Census records!
-
LOL For Sure Trish...Laura would thought she had it made with an unusual name like Zenith in her tree :-X until she reads my posts here ::)
;D A Very Merry Xmas to u also :) Kris 8)

Hi Guys
Many thanks for your help. I found a marriage between John and Alice and when I saw the maiden name Smith, suddenly it all clicked into place! :D
Merry Christmas!

So in this case the name Smith wasnt a bad thing...That is just great ;) A Smith an improvement on a Zenith and solving a problem :D I Just Love it :D Thought u would be horrified when your Zenith became a Smith... 8) and I am very pleased for u....Kris :)
