I have a Samuel Ashton b. Woolwich 1794 - 1798 (age discrepancies on Census) who married a Sarah - she was b. 1799 - 1801 Erith, and I am trying to find marriage/baptisms/parents/siblings for them.
All their children were b. Erith - definites from 1831 onwards, possibles in 1820 and 1825. The definites are Joseph b. c1837/8, Ann c.1831, Thomas c.1834 - but I can find no baptisms for these three online.

Hi Brambletye
Erith baptisms 1830-1873 are covered on the IGI http://www.familysearch.org with batch number C020572 - there are some interesting ASHDON and ASHDOWN entries ;)

Excellent - that's the three definites - two Ashdons and an Ashdown. No marriage for Samuel & Sarah, but I can now try for the variations elsewhere and see if they turn up.
Many thanks, Casalguidi!

I'm also researching this family - I'm descended from their daughter Hester (name spelt Esther Ashdown on her marriage certificate in 1841). Hester and Mercy are on the www.familysearch.org site, but James and Samuel are new to me. Strange there's no daughter called Sarah.
There is a marriage on the IGI of a Samuel Ashdown and Sarah Willington on 21 May 1820 in East Wickham, which is very near to Erith. A better match for dates. A look at Joseph's birth certificate would show Sarah's maiden name.
Thanks for the info.
