Title: Is there a kelly`s directory or similar for Cambridge 1977?
Post by: Phil32 on Monday 18 June 07 16:22 BST (UK)
Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a kelly`s directory or similar available for Cambridge in approx 1975? & If so where abouts can they be viewed?

Many thanks.

Phil32.

As far as I am aware, the last Kelly's Directory for Cambridge was published in 1975 and there is nothing similar.

The main central library in Cambridge, where all such publications were available in the Cambridgeshire Collection, is closed until next year but directories may be viewable at the Milton Road Branch Library where much of the Collection is being housed in the interim period.  But you would need to check this as much material has gone into storage.  There are, of course, the electoral rolls which can be viewed but again you would need to check where they are at present.

I have the 1975 Kelly's for Cambridge and some earlier ones and if I can be of any assistance in looking something up for you just ask.

Hi Selina,

Many thanks for the very informative reply, & also for your very kind lookup offer!

I am in the process of trying to establish more accurate residential records regarding family history, & may well get back to you on this.

Thank you again,

Phil32

Hi again Phil,

Just a thought in case it comes in handy - the local paper - Cambridge News has messageboards.

http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/

Click on Messageboards on the left hand side and on the Forum you will see a Cambridgeshire Memories forum.  You need to register to post anything but many people look for both past and living friends and relatives on there, just depends if you want to mention names and addresses etc.
