Hello,
I am hoping Francis Travers BUCKLEY may show up in the 1871 census. He married Elizabeth Sophia NICHOLAS in Hackney, 1869 but he died in 1876 aged 46 in Omskirk, Lancashire so he may have moved there by 1871. I don't know if he was born in lancashire or not - possibility is high though.
I am actually trying to trace who I think is his brother who went to Australia and married a 15 yo when he was 30!This fellow named a son Francis Travers BUCKLEY...
Elizabeth Sophia BUCKLEY died 1904 aged 66 in Omskirk
Any help gratefully received

Hello again,
Well, I have dug about a bit more and found a few more clues - complicated though they are.
It seems Elizabeth Sophia NICHOLAS who married Francis Travers BUCKLEY in Hackney 1869, had a daughter, Henrietta Eleanor Nicholas BUCKLEY in June 1857 in Hampshire ( Portsmouth area)...Elizabeth also came from Hampshire b 1837...I found mother and daughter in 1881 in Lancashire-88 Manchester Rd St Meols
I hope these clues may narrow the search!
Cheers

Kiwi - Henrietta is with her grandparents in 1871! No sign of her parents - they are proving elusive.
Do you want details for Henrietta?

Do you have Francis Travers Buckley and Elizabeth Sophia Nicholas's marrige certificate? If so who were their fathers, who were the witnesses and where did it take place?

I have found a couple who may be Francis and Elizabeth in 1861......I searched through all the Elizabeths born 1837 Hampshire + or - 5 years!!!! Only doubt could be the birthplace of Frank......

A possibility for Mary Buckley's husband....
Death, Jeremiah Buckley, Ormskirk, December 1/4 1847, vol 21 pg 429
Although I cannot find him on the 1841, neither can I find any of the others...

Hello again !
Wow - thanks so much for all this..I have advised the Lancashire board I will stay on the London board as this is where most of the info is....so far the censuses have proved a godsend - I am a tad worried about the Frank and Elizabeth in 1861 as he was born in Ireland...1820 it seems, whereas the Frances Travers BUCKLEY who married NICHOLAS was born 1830 ( from his death in Omskirk at any rate )......I have managed to unearth some amazing links to the WINTERBOTTOM and MINSHULL families but am still working on them...I am now wondering if Mary ?? possibly MINCHALL married Robert BUCKLEY in 1817..but Jeremiah is also a name from Ireland.
I have only just found the marriage in 1869 so will let the lady who I am doing this for know to order it - forthwith!
More soon hopefully
Kind regards and a million thanks

I am researching Thomas Newton John Buckley (1832-1886) who I believe is the brother of Francis Travers Buckley (1830-1876). Are you able to share any information on their parents who I believe were Robert Buckley and Mary Newton married in 1825 Cheadle, Cheshire, England. Any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
