My grandfathers first wife was Elizabeth Quee from Hill Street in Holywood. Her father was Robert Quee, a labourer.

Hi Quee15 and Mandy,

Neither of you have put any dates in your messages which makes things difficult to have a look through directories for Quees. The Ulster Covenant of 1912 was signed by ten people named Quee ... three of
them came from Holywood.

I've linked this thread to your   Quee of Co. Down  (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,127348.msg1294816.html#msg1294816) thread, Quee15. There are several people named  Quee  (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/Q.htm) on the Ros Davies' Co. Down, Ireland Genealogy Research Site.

Thanks for your reply Quee15.

It's a pity you did not give me an idea of the time your Quees lived or where they lived. I'm having to guess. I'm in the Central Library in Royal Avenue, Belfast with a good collection of Directories of Belfast and Ulster a few feet from me.

Hi  I have an Isabella Quee in my tree, born about 1823 in Belfast.  She later married William Elliott and they moved to Liverpool.  I haven't been able to find anything further about her, so if anyone has come across her or her family I would be very interested.

Have you looked in the censuses?    What did you want to find out?

She seems to be in the 1861 census, Isabella b 1823 Belfast, and William Elliott in Lancashire.  Haven't got a sub to look at it.

Hi yes I have everything from the censuses and the birth certs of her children.  No marriage cert so I don't know who her parents were etc.
