I'm looking for Amelia Adams (nee Philpott), born about 1842 on the 1871 census. On 1881 census she is married to William Adams living at 76 Albert St Whitstable. In 1861 she is single and at her sisters (Elizabeth Woodcock) house, Backwater Cottage Whitstable and William Adams is lodging at Amelias fathers house in Harbour St Whitstable.
She should be on the 1871 census with at least two children who are Arthur born 1869 and Edwin born 1867. She had 13 Children born after 1861 census, her last being born in 1883.
Hoping someone can help
Thanks

Hi
PHILPOTTs in Whitstable rang some bells - I have seen messages posted on the Whitstable site. Perhaps they are yours - or, if not and in case you don't already know of it:

The PHILPOTTs I'm interested in were in Postling, Hythe, Saltwood, Folkestone area.
Best wishes

Hi Kris
I think the William, Stephen and George are the sons of dad Stephen, and I would assume married by 1871, funnily enough I don't think these 3 are on the 1881 census.
The Whitstable/Seasalter thing is right and they are so close they're almost touching.
If you could have a look and see if they have wives and sprogs I'd be everso grateful.
Thanks for you time

Hi,
I am researching the Adams family tree and have alot on the Philpots and Have Photographs of William Adams and Amelia Philpot.
Think the difficulty in finding more on census is that William was a master mariner and he and Amelia could have been at sea or in another port when censuses carried out.
I know William moved to South shields do not know if Amelia was with him.
