How can I find out the date of a death in NSW post 1976?
The death is not on the NSW Registry of BDM's, so assuming he died later than 1976.
He was born in Qld in 1903, married in NSW (Wallsend district) and that is all I know ...

Hi Ruskie
If you give us a name and date of birth we may be able to go from there also if you have his wifes name we can at least match the marriage and then maybe able to look for a death for you
Cheers Raels

Thanks for the reply Raels and the offer of help. It might help that this is an unusual name.
Valentine Edward Humphreys born in Qld Feb 1903
father: Henry William Humphreys
mother: Elizabeth Spooner
I believe Valentine may have married Lily M Reynolds, West Wallsend, 1932
and perhaps a second marriage to Essie Mc or Mac Martin in West Wallsend, 1849. (info from online NSW BDM's)
Many thanks.

Hi Ruskie
have you tried the Ryerson index? Death/Funeral notices from 1970.

I'll go have a look
Trish
Edit: I don't think I see him there. Wallsend is the Newcastle area - There are many family history sources there - I think at the Uni. Might be worth googling to see what is available - or check for any cemeteries. Have you found a death for one of the wives? The certificate might indicate where buried.

Thanks for the help Trish. I will have a google to see if anything surfaces.
I couldn't find Lily or Essie (short for ?) in the NSW BDM's.
This person is a bit off the track (or should I say up a different branch), as I just discovered the name Valentine in the family going back to 1734. This Valentine is one of my gg grandfather's third wife's second husband's children (phew) and not a direct relation to me.
I was just curious. you know how it is when you get a bee in your bonnet about someone ....
