Looking for info on a Jenny Turner. Don't know where to start. Family mystery needs solving.
My grandmother was born on 21st july 1911 and her mother on birth cert was a JENNY TURNER, a domestic servant of 38 Chingford Road Walthamstow. The family hve no info on her apart from where she was residing, whic was 1 Union Road, Leytonstone, Leyton. My grandmother was brought up by a Sarah and George Dye, whom I have always assumed were my great grandparents, until my grandmother died and we found her birth cert with her real mother, no mention of a father either.
Can anyone help

certainly worth a look at the 1901 Census - Jenny would have been old enough to appear if she had a child in 1911.
But if there are multiple choices in the overall area of West Ham / Walthamstow / Leyton, it could be very difficult.
The 1911 census may also help - but thats a couple of years yet to wait. :(
I'll have a look at 1901 ....

Not too bad - there are 4 of that name in the area - 2 of whom would be only 11 or 12 in 1911 - and, of the other two ..... one is married to a Joseph in the 1901 census.
The other lass was born 1888 Clapton, and is in Walthamstow as one daughter of a fair sized family in the 1901 census.
RG13/1627; Folio: 119; Page: 38
The address is 14, Clarendon Road, Walthamstow.
Father Frederick is a Publishers Assistant, born in Kingsland, Middx - aged 43.
Mother is Hannah, also from Kingsland.
Jennies siblings include a Frederick, Maude, William & Harry..
any of these names get used later in the family ? Sadly, none are particularly unique...
any other clues, let us know.
:)
