Charles Hutchins appears to have been raised on Bowes Farm at Edmonton, near Southgate.
His parentage is unknown. Could someone look up the Southgate Chapel registers around 1750 to see if there is an entry for him. It would be wonderful to move around the brick wall of his parentage.
He did have a brother William and a sister, Ann Who married ? Wallis. He also had cousins, John, Thomas, Johathan, and another John and Samuel indicated in the will of Jonathan Hutchins, a cousin of Charles.
Charles married Betsy Raikes [ about whom a reasonable amount is kn own except for her date of death] in 1784 at St Clement Dane and the result of the marriage was four children, a boy, Charles, named for his father and three girls who were named after Betsy's sisters: Lucy, who married Joseph Dodson; Harriet who married Rev Thomas Sparkes Griffenhoofe and Charlotte.

Hi I am researching Edward Vaux who left Bowes Farm in his will. It must be connected at least. I picked it up on the new on line newspaper thing. It is the add for the farm.

Hi Jonathan
Welcome to Rootschat ;D
According to their profile, Gladstone hasn't been online since July 2008.
If they have changed their email address or switched off notifications, they won't get an email and know that you and I have replied to their post.
Fingers crossed though.
