Hi
My great grandmother Florence Kate Vinyard was born in Dartford 1899 and I believe an older sister Ethel Maud died there 1898. Her parents were born in Ipswich. I would like to know if there were any Vinyards in the Kent area.

Hi
There was one VINEYARD family in Erith, Kent in 1901. They were living at Wymans Cottage :-
VINEYARD
Charles Head Marr 26 Royla Arsenal Labourer Ispwich Suffolk
Eva Wife Marr 24 Norwich Norfolk
Charles Son Unmarr 1 Plumstead Kent
Albert HOGG Brother in Law Unmarr 19 General Dealer Shop Norwich Norfolk
There does not seem to be any of that name in 1891 in Kent.
Cheers

This could be Florence in 1901
RG13; Piece: 1781; Folio: 15; Page: 21
2 Little Wells St, St Helens, Suffolk
Henry VINEYARD, head mar 30, Ships fireman, born Suffolk, Ipswich
Kate VINEYARD, wife mar 26, born Suffolk, Ipswich
Florence VINEYARD, dau s 1, born Kent, Belvedere.
Can't see any other in Kent, only Charles and family that Karenlee found. Suspect Charles and Henry were brothers as there is a Charles and Henry in same household in Ipswich in 1881.

There were some VINYARDs in Kent in 1841 and 1851, although looking at the image for the 1851 ones the name could be WINYARD.
1851 - John 16 born Tunbridge Wells, Edward 12 born Hampstead, Middlesex, grandsons of a Mary ROGERS 66, living at Quarry Lane, Tunbridge Wells. There was another Rogers family next door, more than likely her son.
1841 - A Joseph aged 75, and Mary aged 20 both at Delce Lane, St Margarets, Rochester, neither born in county.

Tks Ian
The name does appear at times to be spelt Winyard. With different county dialects and lack of reading and writing skills, I guessed it changed in translation.
