Post by: ev2210 on Saturday 09 June 07 08:31 BST (UK)
I have an Eleanor Wroe who married a William Cottrill C 1880 in Lancashire.   Does anyone have any further info. on this family.  I understand they had a daughter Florence who married a George Priestley in Prestwich C1912.

Pels.

Thanks so much for all that information.  Its the right family, William would be my 2X G. Uncle, I think that's the correct distance, he is my G. Grandfathers brother.  I was interested in the name Wroe, as it is an unusual spelling, thought maybe it was from other than Britain.

I would love to know if any of this branch of the Cottrills are still in evidence, my brothers are the last of the Cottrills related to Williams brother John Herbert, so the Cottrill line would appear to have died in my generation, as William had no sons that survived that I am aware of.

Again, thank you for your help.  Regards Evelyn
