hi
thought i would add my dorset interests in here, if any one can help id be greatful.
Hill
Mullins
Woolfries
Pearce
White (no very little of)
Groves
Goff
Dowell
Wheeler
Pitcher
Childs

I am doing this search for my partner and still know very little - the last six names are cousins.  The first five are our main interests

Hi Maz1,

welcome to RootsChat.

My suggestion would be to start with any one surname and tell us what you know about them.  Then we can search further.

If you are researching in Dorset, then the Dorset Online Parish Clerk site:
http://www.dorset-opc.com/ is a "must" for you.

I entered your most uncommon name WOOLFRIES in the search engine  and got 8 entries.  Recognise anybody ??

(MULLINS brought up 96 entries, GOFF found 30 !)
Try entering combinations of your names, where you know or
suspect a connection, and search with "find ALL words",
for instance "goff mullins" found 7 entries

Hi Maz,

I have just noticed your post and was wondering where your Hill family came from.

The only reason I ask, is that my boyfriends surname is Hill and he's from Dorset!

Plus, do you know more about your White family, as I have a member of my family (by marriage and still living!) whose maiden name was White. They were from Corfe Mullen near Wimborne.

my partner comes from Evershot Dorset most of his relatives are from the same area, including Melbury Osmond. and one loose one from somerset!!
his whites i know very little about and think are from Athelhampton.

There are quite a few Whites living at Lulworth Cove.

(also just noticed what a terrible spelling mistake I made - "no very little of", now if my English teacher were to read this!)
