Hi,
I am still searching for my elusive ggrandmother.
I have had some great help from the people on here for which I am truly grateful.
I have searched the death records in both Ireland and England but have had no joy.
The only other things I can think of that could have happened to her is either she emigrated and left her husband and small children, was deported for a crime or she entered an institution.
Does anyone know where I can access any records of the above for the details.
I am not sure where she would have left from if she did emigrate as the children were all born in Kildare but they left Dublin to move to England.
If anyone could help it would be great.

What was her name ?

Hi,
Her name was Helena Ross (nee Burke) she was also known as Nellie/Lena.
She was born in 1906 and married a William Ross.
Thanks

I know of a Ross family that went to Australia in the 1950's and were related to clergy I think. One member born in about the 1920's was a bricklayer.

Hi
I have followed all the advise given to me on here and have had great help especially from Celtic damsel, but unfortunately we still haven't been able to find this lady.
I am now wondering if there are records of people who entered institutions or emigrated as this is my last hope of being able to find her.
If there is, if anyone could put up a link it would be great.

Hiya Michelle,
It surprises me you haven't got a reply from the church. Catherine sent you the address for Elaine Foley at the Parish Office eighteen months ago. Although there was no mention of the street I'm sure that your message must have got there OK. I've found the address St. Michael’s Parish Church, Stanhope Street, Athy but have not found a web site with an email address for the church or a phone number. If someone knows the phone number but does not wish to contact the church for whatever reason if they let me know the phone number I'll contact the church to see what's happening and why you have not received a reply.

Hi,
I contacted Elaine and she gave me information on my nan, her brother and sister and father but she had no details on Helena.
I contacted the church of Rath and enclosed a donation but I didn't hear back from them.
Elaine directed me to the Health Executive who I then contacted but she could only find Helena's birth annd marriage records, nothing else.
I am now stuck and don't know where to try next, she couldn't have just vanished into thin air which is why I'm thinking maybe she emigrated and left the family or entered an institution under a different name.
Thanks
Michelle
