Hi Sandra

I have a Stephen John Langridge 1795 Burwash and another 1795 Fletching. One of these Stephens married Angella Wood the other has no spouse at the moment.

I visited the County Records Office today at Lewes with the following results

Burwash - 22 baptism including 3 Stephens and 11 marriages
Fletching - 9 baptisms from same family including Stephens.

Will post results later this evening - there is a lot of typing to do

:( I need a birth look up please if anyone one can help.

John L and Judeth Bryan, with children: Sarah b.1668, Mary b.1672, Ann
b.1678 and William b.???. This William married Elizabeth Mantle 4 Nov
1708 in Fletching. It's the birth or baptism for this William I need please.
Can anyone help.
 ??? ???

I've been worrying this problem like a dog with an old bone
..................
so, tackling it bit by bit:

The Williams...............

1. William 1677 the butcher HK 1677-1726 son of William & Mary (IGI
batch C070651)
2. William 1678 EG son of Henry & Eliz. (IGI batch C070562)
3. William 1679-1680 HK son of John (IGI batch C070651)
and one of...
4a. William 1682 the carpenter HK 1682-1752 son of John & Judeth (IGI
batch C070651)
4b. William 1682 the carpenter HK 1682 son of John & Anne HYSTED  (LDS
submission)

I think #1 married Elizabeth NEWNHAM 1707, had 8 children William 1709-
Edward 1724 @ Horsted Keynes
It was the butcher who died in 1726
I don't know what happened to #2
Eliminate #3 as being almost certainly an infant death

Who were the parents of #4?
John the carpenter 1644-1697? & Judeth BRYAN ?
or
John the carpenter 1646-1697? & Anne HYSTED ?

I suppose it is possible that John married Judeth BRYAN 1666, 3
children 1666-72, she then died, John remarried to Anne HYSTED (widow)
in 1675, 8 more children including William 1682 & George 1683 ?????????

( I think that John 1655 was son of William & Denise HYDER, married
Sarah WHITE, bore Robert  1687)

Has. anyone got an alternative a view, or better still some evidence?

Hi
I have finally traced my Kent Langridges to Sussex. Can anyone help me get any further back? I have Luke Langridge( b. abt 1827) m. Mary Heaver in 1851. His parents were John and Hannah (no maiden name so far) both born abt. 1795. Luke's siblings were James (1817) , Thomas( 1819), Mark(1821) and Matthew(1829). Not sure if there were anymore. This came from the sussex weald website. Does anyone have any info on John and Hannah?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Maxine
