Title: *completed with thanks* Restoration for grandma please
Post by: doorwoman on Monday 28 May 07 17:32 BST (UK)
Hi all.

Is there any chance you could clean up my husbands grandmother for me please? It is the only photo he has of his paternal grandparents, so is very precious to him!

Thank you kindly in advance

Thanks very much Indaloman.

My hubby will be over the moon!

He is so lucky to have saved this photo. He asked around the whole family for no real reason about 6 months ago & his sister had just thrown a lot of old photo's that she didn't want out. Digging down the bin rescued this one! 24 hours later & it would have never seen the light of day again.

It would have been nice if she had asked around 1st!

Thank you again.

Hello door,

If you stand with your back against the wall , as far away as possible , opposite your pc , this will look ok.

Wow Woodentop50 & Dyingout, these are great!
I can't wait to see my husbands face when he sees these.
They are beyond my wildest expectations.

You're all wizards to be able to rescue this pic so well.

A million thanks to you all.

Oh people, you are wonders.

They are so cleaned up that I'm now wondering what my hubby's father has in his hand! i'll have to do a bit of close up investigating!

Once again, thank you all ever so much.

Hi Doorwoman, How sad the old photo were thrown out. I had the same experience with an aunt of mine who not only threw out the photos but the silver frames as well

Thank you jc26red.

I'm going to have to chose one to print out now! Conundrums, conundrums!

Thank you all once more for taking the time to restore the photo, I'm absolutely amazed it came back so clear.

As my husband never knew his paternal grandparents & his father died young, it was such a find to have this pic in the 1st place, in the condition it was, far less how it is now. When he got it, you would have thought he had just inherited the family treasure!

Once again, thank you from the both of us.

ah but to some of us, pictures like these are the family treasure. I was once asked by the wife that, if in the event of a fire, what I would try to rescue first, her or the family history stuff....................the pause whilst I was weighing it up in my mind said it all I think  ;D ;D

Old Rowley,

You could make back ups to a dvd or cd , then keep it at another location (off-site back-up), then your other half will have a chance of survival in an emergency   :)
