On the IGI it says Elizabeth Rogers born Newcastle 26/9/1902. I know she was born Sept 1902 and the parents are correct Robert Rogers and Elizabeth Robinson.
I know that children were born Lanchester, South Shields but this one says Newcastle but I don't know if that is near the Durham Area.
Can anyone help

The IGI records was submitted by a Mormon church member. It is not a record extracted from parish registers - so it is an 'I think' entry but probably haven't really got much of a clue and should be treated with caution.
However there should be a subsequent birth registration in the civil registration to match such a birth (which could also be in the following quarter since you have 6 weeks to register a birth). Nothing showing in either the September or December quarter (for county Durham or Northumberland - Newcastle was in Northumberland) - the nearest would be this birth registered in the June quarter
Births Jun 1902
Rogers Elizabeth Mary Newcastle T. 10b 57
What else do you know about Elizabeth that might help track her?

Elizabeth is one of 14 children.
The family lived at 12 Edward Street, South Shields on the 1901 census but the next child after Elizabeth was born Sept 1903 in Scotland.
I have exhausted Scotlands People for her birth but not there.

Isobel,
You say that you 'know she was born in September 1902' - what evidence have you got for this?

What was Elizabeth's full name on her marriage and on her death? Was it just Elizabeth or did she have a second name?
What was the age given on her death registration?

Her Full name was Elizabeth Rogers according to her family and her marriage certificate.
Her children tell me that she was born and married in the month of September. Her marriage certificate states she was 21 on her marriage on 14th September 1923
-
If she married in England/Wales there was only one Elizabeth Rogers who married in the September quarter of 1923. She married in Wandsworth registration district to someone with the surname of Bickerstaff. All the other Elizabeth Rogers who married in that quarter had middle names. Or did she marry in Scotland and have her death registered there?

She married 14th September 1923 aged 21 in Hamilton Scotland and died Feb1963 aged 61.
This all makes her born 1901. Her family have had me chasing 1902

I have went back to Durham Council and have asked them to check these again, as they have told me that these were not connected to my family.
I will let you know outcome asap

I would think you would have to go to or contact the South Tyneside registry office to get information for certifcates registered in the South Shields district. Durham records office may have parish records for all over what was Co. Durham but the registry office only covers what is today Co. Durham and not parts that are now Tyne and Wear.

Since the other children on the 1901 census apart from the eldest were all born Scotland have you also rechecked the Scottish registration index for her birth in 1901 instead of 1902?
A Scottish death certificate in 1963 will give her exact date of birth though I don't think that early it will give the place.
Sometimes people did not use their full name when they married (both names where they have two names). Does Elizabeth's death registration confirm she had only one Christian name?

There is nothing at Registry House in Edinburgh for a birth between 1901and 1904.
On her death certificate it only states one christian name and age at death 61 (Feb 1963) ( no birth dates or place of birth are shown on scottish death certificates)

The Scottish death certificate I have does show date of birth, but it is a later date than 1963. I know English death certificates show date of birth from 1969 onwards, but I didn't know when Scottish certificates began showing date of birth - however they are usually more detailed and informative than English certificates, so I thought they might have started the practice sooner than the English GRO did.
