Looking at Combe- there's a George 7 yrs born Combe St Nicholas- parents John and Mary
-
In 1891 he gives his place of birth as Combe St Nicholas RG12/1667 folio 71 pg 3. In 1871, he gives Wambrook, Dorset RG10/2032 folio 28 pg 4.
Do you have his marriage certificate?

yes the Wambrook is the George one I spotted - Family Search has entries for Henry G Whealdon submitted by a member - father Giles. There is a Giles in 1851 - a son aged 27 yrs at home with parents in Broadwinsor Somerset.
-
Thanks everyone for your help
Henry did marry pricilla james and i found henry as having giles as his father,
but someone who tracing there tree also, has the parents as john wheadon and mary Bromfield, so now im stuck
I just need to see what anyone could come -up with
thanks again karen

The Giles in 1851 has parents John and Charlotte in th 1841 .Still in broadwinsor.
-
John and Mary with Sarah Broomfield fit in with the people who have that scenario and there is some evidence in the census, whereas with Giles we don't know where that info came from.
However, Family Search submission by Church member seems to have George married to Elizabeth in 1867.
Free BMD 1866- George Whealdon to Elizabeth Venn.
Is it back to the drawing board?
Perhaps he was illegitimate and Giles was the father.
-
looking through Family Search, there are lots of Wheadons who have been submitted so it is difficult. It would be good to know that they are all based on church records but we don't know.
I think the only thing to do is to get the marriage certificate and see who the father is and go from there.

Priscilla James dad was Giles - I think :-\ - maybe that's where the submission came from
