My GGG Grandfather, William Scholey/Schorey/Schorah was illegitimate and born in November 1841. I'm trying to find his step father John Calvert on the 1841. If he was living near William's mother, Emma on the 1841 then I think there's a good chance that he's his real father.
When I say step father though, I say that loosely. I haven't been able to find a marriage for John and Emma and so I assume they just pretended to get married.
Here are John and Emma on the censuses:
1851: Class: HO107; Piece: 2319; Page: 1
1861: Class: RG9; Piece: 3372; Folio: 90; Page: 7
John Calvert was born at Methley. I'm not entirely sure of his date of birth but I'm more inclined to believe his age on the 1861 is more accurate. John's father is Joseph, born about 1776 at Methley.

Hi Andrew,
I've found this family in 1841 unsure if they are yours but they don't actually state where they were born in the 41, just a yes or no answer as to being born in the county or not.

Hi Annie, thanks for taking your time to try and find him. However that family happens to be on the 1851 too so it can't be the right one.

Thanks very much bungleina! It's been years since I last looked at this, but I'm certain that it's the right marriage. I'll have to revisit the information that I have on the family.
