Title: "Ganecott" Park Lane, Aintree,(?) Liverpool
Post by: Marls on Sunday 20 May 07 12:29 BST (UK)
Hi
Could some one tell me anything about the above address which I found on some Army papers of a relative.

It appears it is the address of this persons mother and a few years become the address of his brother after 1919.

Was it associated with merchant seamen?

Any information would be welcome with thanks

Hi Marls,

There is a Park Lane in Aintree, but I can't find 'Ganecott'. I will be visiting Liverpool RO this week and will have a look for you if you wish.

If you give me your relative's name, I can look in the directories too.

Thanks Red

The persons name are:
1. Letitia Emma McCann formerly Skelton born 1866 West Derby (mother-1st NOK)
2. John Arnold McCann 1897 (brother -2nd NOK)
in 1901 census the family was living at Seaforth Lanc.

His original Army Paters shows his 1st NOK as his mother and she was living at "Ganecott' Park Lane.  Several years later an amendment shows  his brother JOhn Arnold McCann became his 1st NOK and changed his address from  2 Tattersall Rd Letherland to "Ganecott' Park Lane.

Cheers
marlz

Hi Marls,

I did my best. I found a Park Lane in Seaforth, but not in Aintree. You say that your McCann family lived in Seaforth, so maybe this is a connection? Park Lane, Seaforth did have what looked to be cottage names. I did look for Gamecot and Ganecott, but I didn't have much luck there either.

Sorry :(
