Title: 1861 & 1871 James Holden c.1807 Henheads, Stonefold
Post by: Gerry on Sunday 20 May 07 10:53 BST (UK)
James Holden was born c.1807 in Henheads, Stonefold.

I have his census records for 1851 (HO107/2250 Folio 298 Page 4 )together with

Betty Holden wife, 44, born Accrington
Abraham, son, 19
Isaac, son, 13
Martha, dau, 11
Betty, dau, 8
Ruth, dau 5

All children born Henheads.

By 1881 James is a widower, still living in Henheads.  With him is grandson James age 15 (RG11/4139 Folio 110 Page 5).

I am trying to fill the gaps and would be grateful for any 1861 and 1871 census records.    I think he may have died before the 1891 census.

Gerry

Hi Mary

Many thanks for all you have found + all the extras as well.
I think James died in 1892 (I have his 1881 census) and I wonder if you could spot him in the 1891 census?

Hi Nemisis

Your first posting so welcome to the site.   I can't seem to make a connection to the site you mention - can you tell me what is it  about?

Has anyone else made a connection?

Gerry

Wow Mary you have been busy and many thanks for the rolling support and facts and figures you have found for me.  I have a  lot of Holden and associated names to sort  out which will keep me busy for a little while.

I had found bits about Ruth Holden.  George Hargreaves was her second husband, her first husband died aged 22.

Thanks again

Gerry
