Title: What on earth is wrong ...
Post by: Silas on Saturday 19 May 07 19:47 BST (UK)
My pc keeps switching off.  I turn on the monitor then press the button on the pc, it starts with the usual whirring sound then switches itself off.  I have just managed to get it to stay on this time, but am wondering why it keeps happening.  Anyone got any idea please?

Could be faulty power switch, mine occasionally sticks in when I push it to turn on with the same effect - next time you turn on watch the switch.

Hi Tim and thank you for your reply.  Sorry to sound so dim, but am not very good yet with the pc.  Do you mean the button I push in on the front of the pc?

That's the one, press it and it all starts whirring etc. (or not as the case might be ;) )

Thank you so much Tim.  That certainly sounds like a logical reason for it happening.  I'll keep an eye on it.  Cheers.
