My ancestors are Perry Wood and Louisa Millais or Berry
I believe they are on the 1841 England census but his name is Piero Wood.
On the Free BDM are two children Charles 1840 and Olivia 1841 Lambeth Surrey.
This Olivia is definately in my tree
On the IGI there is a marriage for Perry Cook and Louisa Berry.
This may or may not be wrong as I believe my Louisa is Millais but this could be wrong of course ! Its hard when people submit info not from official sources
I was given the name Millais
Any help appreciated in working this out !
They came to Australia in1849 so I think Im going to have to get their childrens details deaths etc in Australia
Regards

There is a marriage on the IGI for Louisa Berry and Perry Wood (Cook ??? ) in 1830. It is one of the new I batches, so no film details.
1841 has a number children the oldest being William 10, so this is probably the family of the couple married in 1830. Whether they be yours ??? If you don't have Australian death/marriage certificates I suggest you get some - they are extremely useful - especially if Victoria post 1853

Hi Trish
Can you tell me what the "Cook" is in the entry?
I just checked the IGI and it only says
Perry Wood married Louisa Berry.
You say its new batches? Are they not on the IGI yet?
The strange thing is their daughter (if this Perry is mine ) Louisa married a Cook !
They settled in SA and they are the worst for details

I am completely confused.
You originally said
On the IGI there is a marriage for Perry Cook and Louisa Berry.
I found
marriage on the IGI for Louisa Berry and Perry Wood
I have no idea who the Cook is that you were talking about
You say its new batches? Are they not on the IGI yet?
They are on the IGI because that is where I found the information. There is no detail on the film on the IGI so it is difficult to find the full parish details that are easily available for M and C batches.

Sorry my error re Cook :-[
I havent been able to find the death in Australia of Perry Wood.
Louisa Wood died in SA 1883. SA records are not very good with details so I doubt even though her husband Perry Wood was the informant their marriage details wouldnt be included
I now am now working on finding out where Perry Wood died.
1 I believe they are the ones on the IGI Wood/Berry marriage 1830. All researach I have found people have submitted says her name was Millais. But no one so far has any proof of her name
2 Only having two of their children on the free BDM at Lambeth is curious

I too am a direct descendant of Perry and Louisa through their oldest child William Frederick and subsequently his daughter Olivia. A relative of mine hired someone to research the tree and l have extensive info on all of Perry and Louisa's descendants, however l have nothing pre Australia. Here is a quote from the research notes:
"Louisa passed away at Yorketown and was interned there on July 26th, 1883 aged 77 years.......There is no official registration papers available from the South Australian Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages of Perry's death. However, research of an old copy of burial sites held by Yorketown Shire Council shows his grave to be in the Pink Lakes Cemetery, the date thought to be 1891. The site was checked but the grave is unmarked. The cemetery is well cared for by the Lion's Club......Perry also, it appears, had an interest in the mining of salt in the Pink Lakes area, near Yorketown."
I too had found the marriage listing for Perry Wood and Louisa Berry, but l had decided that although the dates were a good match, l couldn't make Millais out of Berry, and also the Wood/Berry children don't all match the Wood/Millais children - the plot thickens.

I just realised that your message in the ancestry site is the same l answered last night and l only just took notice of the same names. Forgive the reptition. You mentioned that Piero and Louisa were not born in England - do you know where they were born?

Hello Annaleise
I have Perry Wood's death certificate which shows he is buried in Victoria. So not sure why its listed at Yorke Council
I will private message you the link to my web site I made for the Wood family
